My Pet Chicken

Is the quality worth the money
Quality being subjective here....

They are hatchery birds, so quality in terms of SOP for the birds is not "worth" it.

However, for many other reason, MPC is worth it. These quality reasons include a great reputation, healthy birds, good customer service, low shipping requirements, availability of many rare and sexed breeds that are not available anywhere else.

I have 3 silkies and I don't know if its the breed but they are very friendly. If you want them as pets I would say do it, they are worth the money in my opinion LOL
We used to have a silkie named bubbles. Unfortunately, a fox got her but I love silkies. MPC is one of the only hatcheries online with sexed bantams, so I was wondering if 26 bucks a chick would be worth it for them lol.

What is SOP? and yes I've been reading over many great reviews on them. Pretty sure they are a dual-hatchery along with Meyer, and we've had a fantastic experience with them.

Get what you want. Those breeds will serve you well. As to hatchery the one you have mentioned is okay. Just be mindful of the temps when they ship and make sure you are prepared for the chicks arrival. At this stage don't worry about having perfect breed representatives. Enjoy your chickens for who and what they are: Backyard Chickens. Good luck!

Thank you! Yes, the temperature has been taken into consideration: sometime around June. And it gets HOT in California in June, so I play to have some sort of cooling devices when I move them outside for their "teen" years :)

Yea I remember our silkie went straight BROODY about 2x a year. and I mean broody. Is that able to be done, like replace the whole incubator stage with a broody chicken?
I plan on using broodies to hatch eggs next year that way no heat lamps would be nessesary as thats the hens job I use to have seramas they would hatch like 15/16 eggs everytime until a racoon ate them.
