My "Pinterest" Project Shed Build

Pics
Thank you, Terry!

Something that has me worried: when the man built the shed, he was nervous of doing the steep pitch. So he was distracted by that and he FORGOT to install the ridge vent!!!

And I didn't recognize that it was missing until my husband pointed it out Memorial Day Weekend. I contacted them, and they said they had a block of time coming up where they could come out and fix that. I'm quite nervous about what will be involved. I guess getting up there, removing the ridge, cutting back both the corrugated metal and the decking, and then putting the ridge back on with vent spacers.

Well now. I'm very glad it's not me...or you...or your husband...that's having to do that. The roof is beautiful but that pitch would be no fun to work on. What will have to be done depends entirely on how he sheathed the roof and installed the metal. Perhaps there is enough opening already. If not then you are correct. Normally ridge vent is a continuous vent that is laid over the ridge and then covered with the cap. A fairly simple and straightforward installation if you don't have a super steep metal roof but in your case it's not going to be any fun to do.

Now they need a boom truck.

That's what I was saying, but DS and DH said they wouldn't be able to get close enough to reach.

They should build a giant scaffold...

They were thinking that as close as one of those could get a person right to the roof, the pitch would prevent someone's arms from reaching to the peak.

But still, wouldn't renting one of those be crazy expensive?
