my polish has horns??? pic added

Yes chickngurl, I can see it, its bright red and looks like horns....its creepy looking....lol...I am gonna take a pic tomorrow, shes too high in the tree to get tonight. Her crest is also smaller than the "splash"?? that I already had.

Young pullet, no comb.

Young cockeral, comb.

Most of my hens have no comb or a small comb that I have to really look to find.

My chicken is a hen isnt it? Its comb looks just like that but about twice that tall.

I caught the splash and she has 2 little bumps there. BTW does the splash look old? Her face is always pale and shes never laid an egg, Ive had her about 4 months.

Your other bird might be a splash or a blue. The blue polish can get that "ticking" for lack of a better word, and it is hard to tell the two colors apart until you try to hatch some of their eggs.

As far as her age, are her leg scales rough looking or not? Older birds legs sometimes look scaly and rougher than younger birds. Also some of my older birds will develop a small spur when they are over three years old.

OMG Tricia, on that link, theres a solid white frizzle polish....I'm in LUUV!!!!

I know this is an old post, but I have a white Crested polish, which is suppose to be a hen. "She' is growing 'horns'...can she still be a hen?
