My poor Kitty :( What could have done this? *GRAPHIC PICS*

Is the green on the skin right on the edge of the wound? That sounds like that little strip of flesh has died. Looks gross, but usually not a big deal; most vets would just trim it off.

The same thing happened to our cat. Same bite marks on her back, but no leg wound. The vet said it looked like a (very large) raccoon. She was very lucky because she is only a 3 legged cat. 2 yrs ago she got caught in a fox trap and had to have her front paw amputated. She refused to be and indoor cat so, there was not much we could do but let her out. This bite occurred right around this time too last year.

The greenish area is inside the gaping would at the back of the leg, looks like mucus with a slight green tinge to it. I smelled it and it doesn't have a funky odor, I have been cleaning the areas religiously. I haven't called the vet because it doesn't seem to bother him as of right now and I can't get him back until tomorrow (no vehicle right now) The flesh around the gaping would is still nice and pink. I think it just may be the wound is draining and i am just being super paranoid about it all.

Bobcats, coyotes and raccoons will almost always attack the rear of an animal before they go for the head, according to my vet when one of our dogs was attacked. Poor guy. Lots of TLC is in order!
