my pug is in labor- 2 so far 8/24/08

Many pugs will need help opening the sac because they are brachcephalic (short faced) and their jaws cannot function like a normal dog.

I don't think you said it in the post, but she was bred to a pug, right? Just making sure because a larger male could cause problems.

Sounds like you are doing a great job staying with her, and taking her temp, etc. I hate when people leave their dog unattended when she's about to give birth.

yes I am staying with her till she is done. She is having purebred pugs. shes still not breathing hard or anything but I just took a nap so I wont be as tired staying up all night. I hope its tonight. I know to let her eat the sacs and placenta. Thanks for all the tips.

Hi. Good luck to you both, I hope everything goes well. Don't forget the new ER in Deerfield.... Its a great place if needed. Was she from Keene? I remember a pug breeder set up as you described. She kept them out all winter like they were sled dogs. Wendy

I dont know about a ER in deerfield. I got her near providnce RI. I cant remember the town but if I read it I know its her. ooh news just said tornada spotted in sunderland

There is a vet ER on rt 5&10 open 24 hours. 665-4911 if you feel you need them

its more $$$ than a vet, but when you need them, its worth every penny. Its nicer than the people ER and better service

well I just ran to the feed store (2minutes up the road) and came back she was waiting for me at the door then back to her corner. I hope this doesnt turn into a 4 day waiting game. Ive only worked 1 day this week since I make my own hours but would like to get a 16 hourshift in by saturday but dont dare even work eight til she delivers. I will keep posted.

Have you ever heard of mini-boxers? A customer told me today that a boxerXpug supposedly makes a mini boxer. He just heard about it. I hope the pug is always the boy
