My "pullet" crowed this morning!

 Glad I'm not your neighbor! Do they do it dark and early like roos too or just normal day time stuff?

Definitely monkey see chicken do. :barnie

But still... I gotta see a video of them all doing it together. And what do the roosters think about it?! ;)
:lau Time of day doesn't matter much to them, honestly. ;) Whenever they feel the urge to crow, they crow!
:gig
I shall try to get it on film one of these days. :D The roosters....ah, the poor, hen-pecked roosters. Though all are gone except for one, each has faced our dominant, overly aggressive girls and lost. It's my belief they're completely used to crows, being tidbitted, and wing-danced by the ladies. Not to mention beaten to a pulp daily.

Must be something in the Ohio water...;)

So, I posted some pics and checked a couple of weeks ago. I was relieved when you all unanimously said my little easter egger was a pullet! Now, I am doubting again because "she" crowed twice this morning! Posting new pics. Should I change "her" name?:DView attachment 1370557 View attachment 1370558 View attachment 1370560 View attachment 1370561

Gosh!
Your "Tilly/ Theo" looks amazingly like Ringo. Ringo is only 5 weeks old, is (hopefully) male, but who knows for sure this young.
Distinctive aspects: thick leg, a different posture than the pullets, and the reddish cape/shoulders. He came to me by way of a farm 15 miles up the main road. They breed heritage birds, keep hens for egg sales, manage the Farmer's Market and are good stewards. They were very responsive when I indicated an interest in any extra young roos they might have and were reasonably certain that several young birds were male. We'll see but I am hopeful.
It took about 2 hours for Ringo to integrate with the one week older pullets. The big girls are curious and hanging around the chickie pen (it used to theirs after all). Life gets more interesting on a daily basis <G>
