You seem to be having the same issues with your eggs as you did with the leg color of the supposed purebreds. My guess is they are EE's you are having too many issues that lead to the fact that they are not pure bred ameraucanas but just run of the mill EE's. Maybe you could go back to where you got them and look at the flock and ask a few more questions, I think that may clear up what you think you have.

I can not stress it enough that they are not EEs. These people are reputable breeders, I prefer not to say any names. These are purebred Ameraucana chickens. Understand that not every chicken is perfect. The father of the hen that lays the tan egg won Best of AOSB at my State show this year. I know what my chickens are and they are not EEs, as I actually have an EE just for eggs.

I find that comment very rude.

Not meant to be............ you asked for advice ..........you got some and that is that. What you do with that advice is up to you. Again good luck.

I didn't really see OP asking a question...the original post was more of a statement, and the OP presented more information when it was found.

Not necessarily true. Ameraucanas can and sometimes do lay green and brown eggs. Buying a purebred Ameraucana is not a guarantee of blue eggs, by any stretch. As with EEs, most Ameraucanas will lay blue or blue-green eggs, but some simpy do not. The genetics involved in blue eggs are complex.
