Love it. I have 14 button quail, 3 1/2 weeks old. They are still in the house.. need to build them one but currently working on another chicken coop ATM lol

I mixed a little wood ash and saw dust in it, too. But I think they would enjoy plain play sand all the same. Just make sure it's play sand, because it's fine, clean and screened.

I don't think I can make another. This one cost me a carpal tunnel! But maybe after my hand heals I think about it. Depends on the type of wood you buy... mine cost a little under $300. I used mostly untreated pine, which I coated with non-toxic lumber seal (AgraLife). I only painted the outside. The legs are the only ones treated, since they touch ground. And the poop-trays are particle board. I have the initial drawings, I'll be happy to share. You can modify the dimensions to your needs. I didn't worry about egg drop tray and declined floors, because I can easily reach into the cages, since it is only 2 feet deep.
