Im getting some eggs that are double the size or normal quail eggs.... like ill have to use chicken egg racks to hatch em. They dont fit in quail racks at all, nor do they fit in quail egg cartons... is this a very good breeder bird laying these or may it give me problems with the bird... they are about half the size of a chicken egg...

I would be concerned with a prolapse in the future, what are you feeding her?

Purina flock raiser 24%... they didnt lay quite as big of eggs today... its their first few eggs... thats what i was thinking too... but they seem fine. I have several more coming into laying now too... ive noticed their first egg or two is soft shelled then they firm up good. They have plenty crushed shell so im not worried. It was just kinda cool getting a little bigger eggs.. make for a bigger bird i guess haha

I would suggest not incubating their first eggs, incubate a week or two after they start laying.
