My rat bait station

So when I go to the store how do I know which is light green and which is dark green? Okay, that sounded stupid. I meant how can I be sure I'm getting the right bait, what does the package say? And which station are you using?

I had an issue with rats just a couple weeks ago. Gave them as much poison as they could eat. Likely I have 2 coops. I put all my chickens in one coop at night and baited the other one.
I also feed the girls outside for a week so there was no food in the coop.
I used a brand called Hawk for the poison. Took 5 days and started finding dead rats. One was dead in with the chickens. The chuckens never bothered pecking it.
No new tunnels in the coop and egg production has increased.
I know more will move in but I know how to deal with them now.

I just love killing rats. Everytime I see the bait disappear, I feel better. They are disgusting things , I hate them more than cockroaches

I would like to pt out some baits but I worry a rat or mouse will wander off into the woods and die and my dogs when out will come up on them and eat them with the poison in them. Has any one been able to control this? My dogs are only out running if we're out with them but they do love to run up into the woods

I don't think dead rat is on the top of the yum yum list. However, 2 of my chickens shared a dead mouse -non poisoned once, and both dropped dead over night. It was so sad.

Wonder what happened ? I cannot take the chance because my dogs will eat anything , amazing to me too I keep saying I'm going to stop buying the high quality dog food and just let them eat all the chicken poop and nasties they find in the woods. I won't but sometimes feel that way when I get up in the morning to find what they ate the day before on the floor.
