My red sex links are 5 months and dont lay

Ok thank you i also have 4 month old chicks in an old dog cage in the coop so they dont get killed but the hens all sit on that and every where else but the nesting boxes is there a remedy for that

Maybe if you kept them cooler they would lay.

Do you have a lot of shade for them - natural or artificial - like tarps? You can also freeze gallon bottles of water and set them out, chickens can cool off just be being near them. Make sure they have plenty of cool water ( you can add ice) to drink

Some people use misting hoses to cool the air around them. Also cool treats like watermelon are a favorite. If you have a safe place to mount a fan in your coop that will help. Moving air feels cooler.

You can also wet down the area in their run so it feels cooler to them. It's hard to be a chicken wearing feather down in summer.
