My Resin/plastic coop construction thread :)

Pics
plastic. It is on the inside of the coop and I had it laying around. Trying to use up what I have. It was just to cut off one small section for me to put "stuff"
When I can buy a house in 2 years it will be a bigger coop and welded wire (not plastic or chicken wire).

well it will keep chickens in.. but any predator else can tear it up

have to say that I am surprised that they went on as well as they did. The wood is only 1 inch thick.
8-0 Those are burly hinges for a coop door made out of 1x.
Hope you drilled pilot holes so the wood doesn't split.
Good job! Door swinging more smoothly now?
Funny, I was thinking that the plastic mesh might make a decent hinge if it didn't sag too much.

I had the hinges left over so opted to use them, yes I pre-drill everything for the most part.
The plastic mesh is thick and yes it did work very well. My intention was to put the hinges on later before Winter as plastic would get brittle.

Put in the pop door and strung up rope to the house Window :love Now I can just close the door from the house at night.

Will get pics of the door later, here is a pic of from inside the house to the coop.

goes into coop on Right for about 1-1/2 feet, then through eye hook and across to the Left side, Eye hook, then down to door.
Oh you can see on the Right, between fence and coop, is the hay that I stacked behind it. Works great so far and snow will fall over fence.
I want to make that latch with the small hinge I saw on Youtube.
Still trying to use up bits of wood hanging around so I have to fiddle with how to make it and watch the video better
Love this video, but my hinge is on the INSIDE so no hole like this one on the outside.

I suppose it could, but it is on the other side of the Coop. So they would have to have at least 2 or more to figure it out.
I doubt it would happen.
How are they getting on the hoop house? Is there a proper solid roof?

I also have Big Wind chimes on that wall and the back yard gate area. I would hear all the ruckus ;)

So I got a few things done and some not done.
Inside of coop is finished, put in no-spill bucket feeder ( :fl ), heated dog bowl waterer but not plugged in yet. Caulked the bottom of shed where wall/floor meet. There was some seepage and just wanted to stop that once Spring thaw comes.... ohhh Spring...
Outside I got netting off pond and heater in but but plugged in yet, wood planks to hold up sheets of wood to cover 1/2 the pond. This keeps a lot of snow out and I scrape it off from time to time during the winter. Raked pond area.
