My RIR eggs.

vfem, I couldn't even wait for 5 eggs. Them 3 eggs were so tiny. Then I was like "what, I need more chickens".

Bluey, no problem. I can't wait til they get bigger. They seem to be getting browner though.

Christmaschicken, awww them pullet eggs are soo cute aren't they? How's the weather up there? It's so dang nice down here right about now.

Our first RIR egg was much paler (like yours) than the starting color of the BR hens. My RIR hen's first egg was a doozy size wise (pretty big) with a little blood on it. I'll post a picture of it later today.

It's funny, my BR hens are much bigger than the RIRs and I would have guessed that the BR eggs would be bigger but so far they are not nearly the size of the RIR eggs...but it's still way too early to make that assessment since I've only gotten a few eggs out of each of my girls so far.

So, at what age do you think they will be that big? Say when they're a year old? Or even older? Do you know their lifespan by chance? Also, I would say my gals are 4lbs. give or take. How big and fat do you think they get? Curious.

It's hard to say because sometimes they will start off laying large eggs and sometimes they lay pullet size egg's for a a few months. My oldest one's are about 18 months old and one of them has just finished molting. They are laying some really nice large to jumbo egg's right now.
