You can get Eprinex from Tractor Supply Store or online from many different places. Eprinex is probably the safest to use as there is no withdrawal time for eggs or slaughter. It is a cattle wormer. Worm infestations can do many different things in chickens, there are many variations of each type of worm and they each attack a different part of the body, ie: crop, gizzard, throat, intestines, reproductive system, you name it, there is a variety of worm that will attack it. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

I am still trying to get the Eprinex (today, waiting to hear back from the vet), but my only choice may be to wait for some to arrive. I will treat for worms today regardless either via pumpkin seeds or meds depending on whats avail.

I would just hate to know/find out there was something more I could have done to get her better, so yeah I really dont think it would hurt at this point.

If I don't find anywhere that carries common treatments for poultry (so I can just pick up as needed), I will collect some supplies online so I can be prepared in the future.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all the good advice. I have learned so much in the past week, and am continuing to read all I can. In fact its inspired me to do all my winter improvements and prep so that we can get some more girls. These ones we didn't have much time to prepare for as we weren't planning on having chickens, they just needed a home and I was crazy enough to say "sounds fun!"


So here's the latest.
Henrietta (or as my boys say "Henry-Anna" they just can't seem to pronounce it LOL!) remains pretty much the same. She doesn't seem terribly miserable but She smells just awful, and her poop too... *gags*. And she just feathers and bones, so I have been bringing her in the house at night so she doesn't get too cold. I'm still in denial hoping that maybe extra TLC will make her miraculously get better.

I've given both the girls the pumpkin seed mix and finally managed to find some Wazine in a neighboring town. I tried to get there yesterday before closing but they took off early and were pulling away just as I got there.

but she will get some of that today.

I'm ordering some DE just cause it seems good to have/use.

I am really wishing I could just do her surgery myself. I have called all over and no one takes payments and wont even see check her with what I can spend right now, and I guess every ones afraid of getting sued or something because they wont tell me any advice "with out a diagnosis".

(if I were a vet) I swear I'd be the poorest vet ever... lol
