My RIR layed her 1st egg Thursday! I have a ?

Mine did. The eggs increased with size as the girls got bigger. I have to say though that the small eggs seemed to be richer in flavor and color than the older girls.

Very exciting.

The first weeks' eggs -- up to a month or two or even three -- are called "pullet eggs" meaning they're smaller in size. It's normal for the first ones to be even tinier. Her eggs will continually get bigger until they are the 'normal' size. Sometimes I get a special order for someone seeking pullet eggs specifically. Also I charge a bit less for pullet eggs because of their size.
