My Roo attacked me!!!

I don't see a problem with the idea, except the standing still part. Dominance in animals includes intruding into their space, and in chickens, it certainly includes chest butting and chasing and pecking.

So don't just stand there, move into his space until he moves away.
Don't just hold him down. Use your finger to give his head a nice firm peck or two.
If he does come at you, do not retreat! Flap your arms, sqwak, and stamp your feet as you move toward him.

And please take video of all this because I promise you will tell your grandkids about it someday!

I do not think it is about dominance over roosters in an ideal arrangement. Signals of aggression and submission are very clear as produced by my birds. They do neither to me regardless of proximity. They try to avoid being handled and avoid being stepped on but otherwise are neutral around. Birds which exhibit even submission towards me are a bomb ready to do off. They are very much interested in bettering their position and if they see me as having a higher rank within the flock, then they are prone to launch a challenge.

My ideal is to have roosters treat me like they do anything else that is inanimate. Mine to not flog lawn equipment any more than they flog myself or family members. The mower has no worries.

To OP. Consider doing both approaches. Do Kikini's first for a few days. If no improvement or a relapse in aggressive behavior then do mine. Film both.

Thank you!
I tried Kikiriki's idea this morning, it seemed to work well! I also recorded it
