My Roo is dead ( stupid neighbor dog)

Yes my DH went over there this morning ( he did not want me to go because I am too mad) They said they are sorry and it won't happen again. Yeah right. I am not done though I will be over there as soon as it warms up a little and I have calmed down and they will reimburse me for my birds. DH told them that we are going to protect our birds from there dog and they better keep it in there yard. I'm sure they are very upset, Sure they are. un

That's a good start. Dog attacks never have winners, only losers. There are no
easy answers. Sorry you have to deal with this.

ok. Well they where warned if it happens again. What sux now is that you have to collect all the feed bills and everything for them to reinburse. "Hopefully" they wont be a pain in the butt over the bill. Your DH should have said "If this happens again I will have to end this dogs life. please use a heavy duty dog chain or keep him locked inside." Once again I am so sorry you lost your baby roo

What do you think that my partridge roo and my 2 white rocks are worth remurment wise. Just so I have a good idea what to tell them.

The feedstore here gets $15/roo and $20 per hen or $50 for a trio of unusual breeders and I would consider yours more unusual than the run of the mill feedstore chicks they get in every spring.

Everytime I see this heading, my heart drops!
I hope you took lots of pictures, especially lovely closeups with tons of blood and gore...take them to the local pharmacy and have them blown up to 8X10 glossy size and hand them to the stupid neighbours...along with $50 each for the birds, the amount to fix your coop door, along with pain and suffering for your kids having to see it and go along with the Animal Control Officer/cop/sheriff and ask him infront of the owner what you can do to protect your livestock from a predator...
