I have 10 hens and a 6 month old Rooster(Pecker)who was happy guy till a few days ago.Pecker started ruling the roost about month and half ago.He really enjoyed prancing around showing off and cock-a-doodle-dooing for the ladies.Pecker thought he was real lady's man jumping up on all the hens but it seemed to me like he was a little to rough when he grab back of there necks and he sure finished quick. A few days ago after sneaking on and mounting my biggest hen something happened. Ashley decided to take matters into her own hands.About 15 minutes after Pecker finished he went strutting by Ashley and that's when it happened.Ashley jumped up on Pecker grabbed him by back of his neck and she road him till he was flat on his belly crying. The whole time this is happening the other hens were going nuts I'm not sure if they were cheering for Ashley or laughing at Pecker but when it was all over Pecker was emasculated and embarrassed. He has been moping around coop ever since.I miss proud exuberant Pecker strutting around for the ladies. What can I do to get his confidence back?
