My rooster is not mating

Could well be you just aren't seeing him in action.
If nothing works, consider getting a different cockerel that will fertilize the eggs.

My rooster is 2 years old and have never seen him mate with my hens, he even does the rooster dance . Is there a way to push his instincts a little ????

Have you checked your hens eggs for fertility? Your rooster is most likely mating with them when you're not around.

When rooster's mate it takes less than a minute. So unless your there for a good part of the day with him, I would think you won't see it.

I know it's hard to spot but I've had him for two years and not spotting it atleast once is a little odd, don't u think

What kind of rooster is he? Is he smaller than your hens? Does he have excess feathers? My cochin rooster had a hard time passing sperm through his excessive fluff. I vary rarely saw fertile eggs from him. Fertility also declines after 2 years. I'm sure a sterile rooster isn't impossible either.

Can you post pictures of him? Sometimes hens can crow if there is no rooster around.

Sounds a bit odd... Maybe something is a bit wrong with him unfortunately...
Just a thought... Does he 'tid bit' at all? Find the hens a special tasty treat and call them over? Maybe you could try giving him (just him) a special treat and he can call the hens over for it and maybe they will squat for him as a thank you for the treat??
Maybe you will need to rehome him and bring in a new man to do the job

Yes well especially cockerels seem to have a great urge to mate every few minutes!

...Doesn't the rooster dance mean he wants to mate? He does the dance, but the hens aren't squatting for him?.. and he might be too docile to just jump on and make it happen like a normal rooster would do.
