He usually crows his little head off this time at 05:15 but it's now 06:00 pacific standard time and not a peep from him. I went to the coop to check. He's awake and I see no bugs on him. So??

Nothing too unusual about the morning (Smoke in the air making things hard to breathe)I personally would be happy, is it unusually dark/stormy today?
I'm not allowed a day off, so he shouldn't either! That he is just taking the day off.
Besides not being able to breathe too well, I'm ok, but I have curtailed my flights and S&R activities.I would bet the smoke has delayed enough sunlight reaching him for him to crow. @micstrachan had to shoosh her chickens out of the coop the other day the smoke was blocking the sun so much they had not woken up and left the coop. Stay safe out there my friend.
