Dang that's a shame.. How old is he? he should start laying in the next few weeks

Talking about roosters..................I have an old rooster, Boots. He is perfect and we love him
If I take grapes out, he will take them from my hand and one by one, pass them out to the hens.
It is too much to watch and I do not have a clue how he keeps track of who has had one and who gets the next one.

Yesterday I went to the barn and one of my young roosters decided to charge me.Boots came out of nowhere
and took that youngster down, then chased him off.
He is truely my favorite .
