my roosters beak is in bad shape and cant really eat

Yes the beaks grow back...but very slowly. I had gotten a hen last year who had her beak clipped, to short in my opinion, and it took a year for it to almost grow back completely....but now she has "spurs" that grow out of her top beak on both sides that I have to cut with toenail clippers and file them down. Here's what hers looks like before I cut it.

Oh wow. Ha but thanks you guys i did wet his food and he seems to look a lot healthier and more active. Hopefully his beak will grow back, its not as bad as the one the one that was in that picture, its just a little chipped at the tip hopefully it'll grow back. Thanks again!

My rooster is finally eating a lot again, today was the first day i saw him eat until he was full. But hey i wanted to ask you guys have any of you bought chicks from cackle hatchery? And if so hows the quality of the chicks when they grow up?

I went to the Big Bird Classic in Pine Bluff this past weekend. There was a Huge Welsomer with his top beak almost torn off at the nostril. I was amazed he was in the show. Other than his beak he was gorgeous! But he was in great shape!!! I should have gotte a pic. But I figured There was No way he could eat. I guess I was wrong! He had been in this condition for a while. His beak had began to grow back. You could see the small nub growing in under the torn half. It was all the way from the edge to the center of his face! It was lifted a lil and really looked painful but he was fine! And looked so GOOD! They truly are stronger than we give them credit for! If you use super glue be sure to blow until dry!!! It gives off fumes that will burn their eyes. I speak from experience. I glued a pair of broken glasses and put them on too soon!!! OHHhh WOW that burns!!!!

Good Luck and God Bless!!!
