Quote: Okay, I'm not a vet, and it is hard to tell you exactly what he's got, but it sounds more like mycoplasma synoviae. I would treat him with Tylan 50 injections 1 cc or ml into his breast muscle for 5 days. Alternate sides each day. If it is MS, he will be a carrier for life. He appears to have some bumblefoot also, so you may want to do some bumblefoot surgery.

A lot of it depends on how much pain he is in or if he is suffering. You could give him a baby aspirin twice a day for pain. Can you buy antibiotics to treat him? Your other chickens have probably been exposed to him already, so you may see other illnesses. Do any of the other chickens have respiratory or breathing problems, or problems walking? If he were mine and suffering a lot, I would consider culling him. Are you a grownup or are you a teen?

Based upon what I can see, my recommendation is to dispatch him, especially if you can not get him up rapidly on his feet. All indications are his quality of life prospects are very low.

I'm an adult. I got the Tylan 50. Not sure exactly how to give the shot. Can you tell me? It didn't say it was for chickens. Can I still give it?
