So my 8 month old hen Ruby is not doing so well. I had posted some info on her in another forum: chicken behaviors & egg laying b/c she was acting weird. Anywho, I thought I should post in sickness b/c that is really what she seems to be now.
Ruby seems fine one day & down the next. She isn't eating or drinking too much, was standing alone in the coop puffed up a little, tail down with her eyes slightly closed. I brought her in the house Sunday night to keep an eye on her. We got some vitamin supplements & dewormer yesterday. I decided to do the supplements instead of the wormer b/c all my other chickens are fine. She has not laid an egg since being inside & does not feel like she had any in there. I checked her for an egg everyday since Friday & haven't felt anything. Also, the days she looks bad she also looks jaundice. She is having normal white cap poops, although I haven't seen any of her poops today. I thought I saw some yellow mixed with white in her house this morning. I refreshed her food today & she was not interested. She had poop in her fur about her bottom this morning & I've cleaned her up. It was yellow & seemed kind of thick, had some white mixed in there. Didn't really feel like poop consistency, more like a mushy cooked yolk.
Here is a picture of her from just about 20 mins ago. She has always had a peachy colored comb but she looks pale & jaundice to me. Would love some ideas as to what it might be. Any advice is welcome!
