I'm not happy. Out of 35 eggs, only 4 or so were pointed end down. What is this going to do to my hatch rate?????

I have them in the correct position, resting. I am hoping to let them rest for 24 hours and then set them. I've heard it could help to set them without turning them for the first 3 days. Thoughts?

Ugh.

Hi! Did you candle to see if the air cells were in the 'correct place'?
If the air cells were still where they should be, I wouldn't worry about it.
Good luck with the hatch!

It just seems that if you are selling "hatching eggs", then you would know that they need to set pointed end down. Ya know? Hopefully, they were only like that a few days, and me "righting" them won't cause a problem. I'm gonna let them sit and rest until tomorrow and then hopefully the air cells will be up top.

I did let him know, though... for future reference. I've had good luck with shipped eggs in the past, and I'm hoping it continues!

I didn't know either until I got interested in hatching. But someone who ships Hatching Eggs should certainly know to store/send them pointy side down.

I recently received two separate shipments of quail eggs (different sellers) on the same day and was just as disappointed as the OP to find that one seller had shipped the entire batch pointy end down. I tried to candle them but found the quail eggs impossible to see through, so I just let them rest pointy end down for 24 hours and set them. They go into lockdown about this time tomorrow so I won't know for a few days what impact (if any) it had. Its always a gamble with shipped eggs anyway, so it may be hard to tell how much impact this factor by itself had.

that sux. I wonder if a lot of these places even know what an egg IS. (i've had BAD past experiences, and im going through one right now.)
