My silkie chick just drowned:-(

I am so bummed!! Silkie eggs are blowing up and my only chick to hatch just drowned. I was outside when the down pour started. They all ran for cover and the chick fell on it's back. Before I could do anything, it drowned!!!!! I ran inside with it and got the bulb syringe but too late:-(

I'm so sorry. We lost a chick when we first started with them and I felt awful, I am truly sorry.

Oh that's awful. It happened to me before. Momma hen took her out too early and she drowned in the waterer. I felt horrible!

I lost my sweet 7 w/o wheaten ameraucana last weekend. She got spooked, flew into the waterer, and drown.

Thanks everyone. I'm still bummed but better now b/c I've decided to go ahead and order some when Ideal has them.
What sucked is the chick didn't fall in the waterer or a puddle. It fell in a muddy spot and couldn't get up. The rain was coming down so hard you couldn't see 10 feet in front of ya. Poor little one must have inhaled rain as it was chirping trying to get up.
