My 'silkie' eggs from Ebay

A couple look legit but too many with clean legs and no extra toes. I think out of the 8 that hatched 5 were clean legged

Wow....at least we now know names of two of the bad sellers.....

Just so everyone knows, I have nothing against mixes....I don't like people who lie and misrepresent what they're selling. Makes it bad for the good sellers out there.

Certainly take it up with ebay - ebay people usually DON'T WANT BAD FEEDBACK and will try to make things right.

I agree. I love my little guys. Just not what I ordered

well some of them at least aren't. I actually sold a few as pets to a local family who love them dearly. Since I purchased them to hopefully be broodys anyways.

Does it have a walnut comb? It might be part silkie, but sure isn't pure silkie. I just had a little half silkie hatch with clean legs, but black skin, 5 toes, walnut comb, etc. I'm guessing yours is maybe 1/4 silkie, or both parents silkie x's. Sure is cute though.

Except for silkie feathering, most traits of a silkie are dominant, so it SHOULD have 5 toes, dark skin, walnut comb, feathered legs, crest. I left out beard/muffs, because not all silkies have them. Despite the fact that they are free-ranging, there was nothing in the ad to indicate that they might be breed crosses; colour crosses, yes, but not BREED crosses. The seller did not say "I also have X, Y and Z breeds" much less "I have X, Y & Z breeds ranging with the silkies."

Apparently he didn't know that silkies are broodies and will hatch a clutch of entirely someone else's eggs!!!

i can only see one with feather legs but none that look to have d'uccle in them as they have feathered legs, volture hocks, no wattles, and a beard.

Where do you think they got that red with black speck coloring? I am just curious

could be any breed with that coloring. its a girly ee's coloring and if im not mistaken welsummers also start to look that way at first, could also be the start of mille fluer coloring but reminds me more of a partridge color. i would have to see them full grown to see what color they turn out to be and to get an idea of their body conframation
