Here are the three I kept from some ebay eggs I hatched in February. They are about five months old now. I like the one on the right.

No, not yet. There has been very minimal effort on the roo's behalf to crow and sorta try to pull the hens' hackles. He has GREAT toe separation. The splash girl has a single comb and fair toes. I can't remember what the blue girls' toes look like. She is so pretty I just forget about her toes. They can't be terrible or I would have unloaded her at a few weeks old with the rest.

I hatched out another batch of eggs on July 4th from the same breeder. She is within driving distance and I traded her my lone partridge hen for another set of eggs. One of the chicks is a TINY little black thing. I swear it is a seramasilkie! When it hatched it was so small I had low expectation of it ever getting up and walking. It did. I put it in the brooder with the other chicks and it just didn't seem right the next day. I pulled it out to take a better look and its poor eyes were stuck shut, probably from getting some fine feed powder in them when it was rolling around trying to learn to walk. Poor thing went almost two days with no food or water... I opened its eyes and dipped its beak several times, again, low hopes it would survive. Its down is shorter than the other chicks. He just looks "not right" but it is still walking around and pecks the ground, drinks from the waterer and survives snuggling with the others. I think I will split the group so it doesn't get smothered but still has enough buddies to snuggle with. Maybe just pull the silkies aside and put all the large brahma and marans and EE chicks in a different brooder. I will try to get a pic of Peanut so you can see what I am talking about.
