Very nice bird, my understanding is that birds or quailty are not easy to find in that breed.

I'm not sure how good the quality is but she came from Ideal Poultry.I think she's very close to what the breed should be as far as I know.

You have me excited about the dorkins because like I mentioned, I am trying them for the first time. I have ordered 5 pullets and one roo from Ideal and waiting for delivery.

I am confused with the talk about the quality of hatchery chicks verses individual breeder chicks. I posted a question in "Raising Baby Chicks" hoping to get an educated answer.

These are my girls. Silver Gray Dorkings. They have personality to spare. They are funny and do talk quite a lot. Right now I am only getting one egg a day, if at all. They seem to be molting because there is an unusual amount of feathers all over the yard. We have raised them since they were chicks and we also had two Pekin Ducks that acted like parents with them until the ducks mature and you know how that goes! After releasing the ducks to the lake across the street, the oldest hen took over as mother and she actually honks like a duck and uses the honking to communicate with the other two and keep them in check. I must say it is really cute.
