I had a man in his late 30s,come in my pet shop. I was selling chicks and ducklings for easter. This man had to ask which were ducks and chicken.

Wonder how someone can get to that age without knowing, what a duck looks like????

If it makes you feel better about your cousin, I have a co-worker that sold newly hatched chicks to a person that called up a few days later to complain that all the chicks were dead. Trying to puzzle out the problem, he asked what the buyer was feeding them.
