My sweet baby is staggering around acting drunk. HELP!

i READ AN ARTICLE THE OTHER DAY ABOUT VACCINATING YOUR CHICKENS FOR MAREKS AFTER THEY ARE OLDER. aND IF THEY WERE VACCINATED AT A DAY OLD, IT ACTS AS A BOOSTER.

better and better every day! I still am not sure what it is. Seems like its likely she was heat stressed or perhaps a little cocci.....still not sure but she's doing better. "White Lightning" huh? Like the mountain dew, hooch, moonshine type of white lightning? Or is this something you can buy over the counter? lol

It's used for horse hooves with a fungus. It's MORE expensive.

Kingsolver, have the Orps hatched chicks yet?
I'm not sure about buying chicks, can you find out if they were exposed to other chickens? I hope they were kept in a brooder, possibly in the house.

oobhakeb, I hope it can be used as a booster. I'll have to investigate..............

No, the Orps haven't hatched out chicks yet, they're still babies themselves

If we do wind up buying chicks we will make sure they're vaccinated and keep them in our basement until they are fully feathered, about 4 weeks or so? Hopefully that will help them build some immunity to it...

That is WONDERFUL news! I unfortunately have another, Kivu my Mottled Java, that is now showing symptoms. More specifically, the same symptoms Gracie had. So...in a last ditch effort I've attempted to try and treat with Hypericum. I read on a forum somewhere that this worked for someone so I'm trying it out. I was only able to get the liquid/dropper form that has GSE in it as well but Kivu seems to enjoy it. I will keep you all updated.

Please, oh please don't make me have to put another bird down...I'm just sick over all this.

Sorry, Kingsolver. I wonder when it ends.

Thanks Oobhakeb & Seminolewind. I'm just trying to see how this treatment works and of course whether or not it does. I'm wondering when it will end, too. Maybe when I cull my whole flock?
