My thermometer that i use in my homemade incubator.

I just bought two of these for my homemade incubator...my issue is that side by side they are 2 degrees apart. One is currently saying 75 degrees and one days 73 (they aren't in the incubator yet...) Sometimes they are even as much as 4 degrees off. Wait!!!! As I write this they matched up!!! HA HA HA HA! I can't believe it!

Hopefully they work out for you!

I have one. I use it for general reference but certainly not for my calibrated temperature. Mine is being used for the humidity only. Mine has never (ever) said 98 degrees. It goes from 97 to 99 but never to 98, either on the upswing or downswing. I just don't trust it.

I do however like how it tracks highs and lows over a period. That is nice.

Edited to add: it is also VERY slow to respond to temperature changes.

I use the same exact one in my homemade incubator. I actually have several, and they are usually a few degrees off, but once you figure out how much the individual unit is off you can mentally adjust to that and know if there is a problem with the incubator or if you are still in the right range. I really like the hygrometer part but that can also be a bit off. I had three different units side by side once, all different brands and they each had different numbers for temp and humidity.

This is exactly why I won't use electric/digital. I use dial meat thermometers and calibrate them in both boiling and ice water.
