Glad to hear that Scully is recovering nicely! It's been 11 days now, and Scully is healing beautifully! Although I noticed comb growth, I'm confused as I was told that GLW had a rose comb, but her comb is not like my others with rose comb...and I'm growing concerned that Scully may be a roo!!
Oh dear...hoping I'm wrong! "She is just super sweet!View attachment 1601575

Yeahhh! I'm glad Scully healed up. I have no clue what sex but I would guess boy because it looks like there are saddle feathers.@sassysarah , @Texas Kiki , @Wyorp Rock , @staceyj
A month later Scully is 15 weeks old and has made nearly a full recovery!! I'm surprised that there are even new feathers growing in on the scalp where it was torn off!!! Its a miracle! Scully is a bit fiesty but very people friendly, although I'm still concerned about the comb...it doesn't look like a GLW comb, I'm curious if anyone has any ideas on the gender and breed at this point! My other GLW have the short rose comb, Scully's very confusing to me!!View attachment 1619026 View attachment 1619027 View attachment 1619028 View attachment 1619029

Looks like Scully is doing great!
I am not a genetics expert by an means, but yes, I "think" you can have a straight comb in Wyandottes. Straight comb is recessive(?) so if not managed you could have a straight comb. I may have butchered that up LOL
Regardless, still looks like hatchery GLW - did s/he come from a hatchery or breeder?
Wyandottes, for me are hard to sex, so for the moment - not sure if Scully is a
boy or girl![]()
