My backyard farm, Maine
Now I finally understand why some of you have issues with this company!
We ordered a deer mounting kit. It shipped UPS.
I'm in very northern Maine.
They shipped it from somewhere down south (not sure where). It went right through my town and 15 miles north to the next town because they didn't want to deliver to our P. O. Box.
So anyway, they sent it 15 miles north and told my mother to get up there and get it before Friday or they would send it back to the shipper.
My mother gets up there (is currently there) and UPS just delivered it to my office!!
The label clearly showed a physical address AND a P. O. Box.
They were extremely rude to my mother about it all and then went ahead and did exactly what they were supposed to AFTER she went up there.

I told her to go in the office anyway and reem them out a new pooper but she's going to email them instead.

Okay... rant over for now...

I worked in the UPS warehouse for a little over two years... what an insane place. They come across as such an upstanding company but all they ever did was blatantly lie to us to fix their numbers. Hourly workers were unionized and supervisors were not. They had no qualms about lying to us to meet their needs. We would find boxes that you could tell the contents were destroyed.. their response? "Insurance will take care of it, just send it." Thievery was also a big deal. The two hottest items? iPods and Harry Potter books. Those fragile stickers you stick on your boxes mean absolutely nothing. The only boxes treated with special care were wrapped in candy cane colored plastic and they were valued at $10,000 or more, in which the shipper paid a premium for insurance in case of damages. My time with them was good but they definitely aren't the superhero company they make themselves out to be.

Hubby said the same thing....he worked there seasonaly and he said they are so bad! I have my sis' sister in law working there too and they are a joke!

I'm slowly learning this. I never really had a problem because, in my small town, everyone knows everyone including delivery folks.
That's actually how this particualr delivery guy got the package to me. He knows my parents and where we all work.
But those people were so mean and degrading to my mother yesterday for absolutely no reason!

Guess I just don't completely understand what is so hard about delivering to an address that is pretty much on the way to where they were heading.
They didn't want to drop it at the PO even though it's right on Main St. or deliver it to the address on the box which is 2 hops from Main St.
It's like trying to communicate with chimps except the chimps can understand better.

I can't believe they were degrading to your mother. I've gotten frustrated with people before but that's never acceptable. I would maybe call or send an email to corporate.. it may not get an immediate action but if this individual or location continues such behavior and more people show contempt they may get reprimanded. Or you could just call them and curse them out.

I wanted to show up or call and be a royal (let's go with witch). But my mother knows my temper so she's going to send them an email. She said she was going to be nice but knowing my mother (I have her temper) they will know exactly how she feels about them when they're done reading it.

I couldn't believe how they acted either! Very rude. And told a nice little lie about the address on the box as well. Don't like em, don't trust em.

It's not that I am fond of them, and they had no business being rude to your mother, but they can not drop any package at the post office. You did not pay for post office delivery. You paid for UPS delivery. In order to get it delivered to you at the post office, you must pay for post office delivery.

Other than that, shame on them.
