MY VERY FIRST PIP - SIXTH Chick Is Out - Frizzles R Us !!!

Well the 1st TWO are alternately rolling the other eggs around or sleeping the sleep of the dead. LOL...

Third chick, the first one that pipped, was at the wrong end of the egg, he had 80% of it broken but had membrane stuck to him. It is really humid here. So I spritzed his shell twice this morning with a mister and he fought so hard. Finally I gently broke it apart, hardly any resistance but it's upper torso was sorta stuck in the cap end. He's out and resting... Such a little warrior chick. Bless It's Heart...

Number SIX is breaking thru the shell... These guys motor around in the bator like crazy and two seconds later are sound asleep... If I hadn't seen it with two day olds earlier in the year I'd be panicked....

They were kicking eggs around everywhere so I pulled the top, moved all the eggs over into the upper left hand corner "sweet spot" where we have had all our luck so far, gave the eggs a spritz of warm purified water (with the chicks huddled under my big DAD hands) and gave the babys some space of their own to play and sleep in...

Come On NUMBER SIX !!

I think I'm gonna have a nice shot of home made limoncello https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=192591 tonight to celebrate when this is all over.

It's gonna be quiet around here for a little while. No more pips at the moment so the youngun's are gonna have a nice nap... dinner is in the oven and I'm gonna so sit in the yard...

Final tally at this point:

two barred
one buff
one or two partridge
one blue
and I THINK one white (for my wife)

Congrats you are doing great.

My hatch was not so good. I had six BCM eggs, so far only one hatched, the one that was rocking is a quitter I think.
I had 4 EE eggs, three hatched and one is rocking.
And 8 SS eggs. One hatched but is not looking good.

I think it is time for an upgrade on the old incubator.

Twinlights:

You hang in there. My wife and I will say prayers for yours... One thing a friend suggested to me since it appeared many of my babies were hatching out backwards on the narrow end of the egg was IF I saw membrane to give it a little spritz with WARM water. I truly think this saved two of our six...

Everyone is taking a well deserved nap. I need to clear out old photos from my cellphone and camera card so I can take more pics later... These little frizzles are so dang cute...

Well we ended up with SIX very healthy and energetic frizzles. Since we are out of the incubating stage I have started a new thread for any of you that have followed our saga of Firstimer Hatches Frizzles... It's so exciting and sweet and addicting. Did I say addicting ??

I already have the incubator sanitized and ready to go with our next batch of eggs... Oh Man !!

We've Moved Here...
