Just cleaned my mealworm bins. Been a while, I usually just toss a few carrots in and keep going. Also combined the two colony's to conserve a bit of space tho they really don't take up much. Of the initial 2k I estimate they are now in the 10ks. And just chugging along.

So for the past 24 hours I've been watching two different threads in respect to keeping chickens from getting cold, one about coop structure and the other about Vaseline and combs, I commented in the latter. It seems that both threads have escalated past the intended point, I only bring this up now because as I sit here refreshing I noticed @aart has also just caught sight of at least one of them and had me rolling for about 5 minutes after I read his post. Had to share. To funny not to.

Really appreciate everyone here. Thanks for being who you all are.

Ya that one was started almost directly after a post in the other thread about combs. Its been interesting to watch. I'm still trying to imagine how many chickens could fit in a fridge to roost how its been described or how many fridges are lined up in this guys run. I can't even take that guy seriously

Hahhaha was just there. My mind is seriously blown if that's what someone keeps their chickens in.
Please anyone who follows this thread.
The only time to keep a full grown chicken in the fridge is after its been butchered. I mean i guess its about as big as one of my brooder pens but still, its a fridge lol. Wow some people are just out there.

Wow! I had to read the thread! Dense is a I can think! You guys were very tasteful and mature vs.... Seemed to turn into a different subject like attimus suggested nicely. Can't tell someone that knows EVERYTHING anything! After readying I got a bit confused I have 3 ventilation wholes on the top of coop both sides. Did I do it wrong ? I dare not ask that guy....

Fun week its been. Rain like you wouldn't believe. Snow. And Christmas.
Hope every ones Xmas went well. Mine was busy as well as the week preceding. I'm sure most of us had a busy week actually. Hope everyone got what they wanted. I still want more chickens. :)

Fun fact. If you turn the drain stop on the pond it only takes several good rainfalls to fill it.

Drained shortly before my injury, as filling it was only a test run, I couldn't pass up the chance to see how much rain we were really gonna get. And how. The ducks couldn't be happier and I think neither could the rest of us. They can be louder than the roosters early in the a.m. now to just get the rests of the posts set and finish up the fencing. All in due time.

Here's a bit of of the cold I came back up to from the valley from the inlaws Xmas evening.

Clear when I came up and clear today but I'm still leary of another impending storm.
Coops held up as did the tarps, still pouring hot water into the watering dishes or breaking up ice on others.

Another ee started laying as well, certainly another greenish blue egg but definitely different from the original. Haven't got a picture yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Also have some old speakers that are pretty big I'm gonna try and turn into nesting boxes. Maybe pictures of that as well tomorrow if I get off early enough, speaking of brunch i m gonna try and get more pictures of the food I'm doing at work. That being said I need to sleep. Pre dawn is only a few hours away.

Always feel like there's so much to squeeze in when I miss a few days.

More to do and more to post as always.
Just came up on my year marker on byc and getting close on this thread. I'll touch more on that later.
