My Welsh Harlequin x Khaki Campbell duck(ling)s. (very pic heavy)

Ducklings were not even 3 weeks old and Emmylou decided to resume laying already. I made her pose with her egg. 😅

Ducklings are 3 weeks old now. I have no idea which three are the hinnies. The two dark ones and the yellow one on the right are slightly bigger than the other two. Which could mean anything. 🤷‍♀️

They are gorgeous ducklings. And Emmylou looks proud of her accomplishment.

Just over 3 months old for big boy. He basically looks like his dad, except slightly bigger, greener, and browner instead of white. He's getting quite frisky now, head bobbing, trying to mate with his best bud. But she's having none of it, she's still a bit young at the moment, but give it a few more weeks. Thankfully, he's been respectful and hasn't tried to force the situation. He also has been trying to assert his dominance by attacking his mum/aunts, dad shuts that down and puts him in his place.

Ducklings are growth spurting. The photo is not great but feather patterning is coming along quite fast for the dark ones. The two lighter coloured ones are probably hinnies. No idea which one is the third hinnie though.

Ahhh they’re all so cute!! What Gorgeous ducks! Super helpful to see a timeline throughout them growing up. Mine are all just at 7.5 weeks now I’m super excited and curious to see how they’ll all end up!

Crazy the egg hatching stories! Have you tried putting in decoy eggs for them to practice sitting on? I’ve heard some people do that, I’m not sure of the success though.

EDIT: also if those two female parents are Khaki Campbell then maybe My Rouen is actually a Kahki Campbell and my Khaki Campbell is a Rouen! O~O?

I think they weren't nesting in the best of conditions/circumstances.

Two weeks in now, Siobhan is doing much better. This time, her nest is in a dark, quiet, secluded place, so she's set up for success. The four eggs (out of six) I was able to candle (while getting chomped on (by Siobhan being understandably protective), resulting in a slightly bruised forearm) are developing.

Wanda though... She's about 1 week in and has already eaten two of the eggs she was sitting on. One of the remaining eggs is devoloping nicely. The other one, somehow, has a detached air cell that now resides on the middle side of the egg. I can see blood vessels but I'm not sure if it's still viable. I will check in a week to how it's doing (if she hasn't eaten them all by then). 😩

Yeah, I think the one with the blue stripe flight feathers is the rouen, the one with the white neck is the khaki campbell, and the other brown one is the golden 300. But I am far from an expert or that experienced, so don't quote me on it 😅.

Here are some slightly better photos of the ducklings. They're 4 weeks old today. Maybe the chocolate one is a hinny too, it has brown/greyish patterning coming through, rather than the brown/light brown of the previous batch.
