Day 3:
'Tis a daunting task, tryin' to feed the poor fellow when he/she doesn't wanna open their mouth when I try to feed 'em...am very scared to cursh somthin' with the amount of my clumsy mistakes I've made in the past, & with this poor fellow...nearly dropped her/him a coupla times yesterday while tryin' to feed...when I do force feed him, I'm scared as all hell that he/she might choke on the food I'm givin' her/him, spit out & what not, tellin' me he/she don't wanna eat...Alas, one must persever to see this poor bird to health & then viable to produce more offspring, that in & of itself is a worth goal. To save one bird so that it can produce more offspring that can & will produce 4-7 birds the next year & 4-7 offspring for each one of those...the numbers are staggering! How patient one must be, when one is so impatient is unnerving as well...14-20 days...constant feeding & observation, oh how I dread to see the lifeless body due to my inability to keep him/her alive! How many times I've been tempted just to dump the bird in any house that's near here. Frustration too, when I see that he/she opens his/her mouth, for the want of food, & then, the food bits I have on the end of the toothpick I have to serve it with, drops right next to the bird, & he/she drops her head in exhaustion, only then I must muster the courage to pick him/her out of the nest, wrestle her gently, to open her mouth & feed her...
One cannot thank each & everyone of you for all of your well wishes, thoughts & prayers, enough...
