We got tons of sleet but nothing else. Well, we might possibly have gotten a little snow but it is nowhere to be found. That STINKS!!! We were looking forward to snow. Vicksburg got enough snow to play in. Somebody send me some snow.

Good thing I let the kids play in the sleet. At least they got to play in some kind of frozen stuff.

So disappointing.

It's almost noon and my outside thermometer says it's 25 degrees here. It's probably downhill from here today...

I grew up in El Paso- I miss the dry heat there.

. So far, I love it. Covington used to be a small town but grew by approx. 80,000 people after Katrina and it took an hour to go 3 miles down the one hwy to get anywhere in town.

Like I said, 45 miles outside Baton Rouge but a world away in all other aspects. The house and outbuildings are 100 years old and everyone in town was born here. It's even been a bordello in that time and owned by 2 gay guys who threw "scandalous" parties. They're the ones who built all the brick courtyards and fountains and walkways. Turns out they embezzeled the money from company they worked for so house had to be sold again.

We plan to offer the home to ministers and prayer teams who visit Angola as a place to stay. Also those visiting loved ones in Angola. We feel God led us here and there is a lot of bad history to be overcome by good. For everything there is a season.
