my wit's end with sick chicken

Well she passed before I was able to leave for the store. She had more foam coming from her crop which I believe she asperated on.
I received some hens from someone last summer and they had Marek's, so I keep this young bird away from them, but there is always a way. So I am also wondering if it could be a tumor of some kind.
She was going to be a fun little bird.

I’m sorry for the loss of your chick. Marek’s is definitely a possibility. It can cause chickens to have a weakened immune system, which can lead to a lot of other issues, as well as the tumors and paralysis.

After reading in The Great Big Giant Marek's Disease FAQ
  • Going off of food or inability to “connect” with food when trying to eat. Sometimes mistaken for a sour crop or other crop problems, lesions on the vagus nerve can cause dilation of the crop and/or proventriculus. The inner lining of the gizzard may also be effected.
this sounds very much like what happened.
Now to decide the fate of the few hens I have left 😢
