Ok, let me get this straight- you swim in the river, called the Alligator River- and you haven't seen an alligator in a few years? Which means you HAVE seen one.. and you swim there? LOL- you are either brave, or nuts!! ( ok, I admit, I once snorkeled in an area called Shark Alley..)
Glad to hear You and hubby are safe, and water going down! I hope the leftover mess is not too bad.

The weather here in England today is nasty! Pouring with rain, and in some areas winds of 65-70mph

I was hoping to clean out the hens, but ill have to wait until tomorrow.

Good to hear it could be over

lol yes I do swim there and I guess technically it's the mouth of the alligator river and the albermarle sound, it's where it opens up to the sound. I have seen them in the past, ie. crossing the road and holding up traffic, and growing up I used to see them on the shores in some areas, but I haven't seen one in quite a few years. I've been swimming in this water for about 2 years now, it's on our property, and my hubby grew up on this property swimming and he's made it to 25 so I'm hopeful that we won't have any gator attacks lol
If I find one on the property I'll let yall know, because I'll kill it and eat it. Gator meat is goooooooooddd, most people are put off by it though BECAUSE it's an alligator. lol
Now I have another issue to deal with lol
I just rescued a baby bass or trout, most likely trout, from my black lab and it's in a big bowl of water and looking like it's gonna live. Now I have to hunt small bugs and see if I can get it to eat.

I know, it stinks! I haven't let them out yet because their run is still pretty wet and considering the water level yesterday, I don't want it to be like quicksand for them. I'm hoping the sun will come out soon..it's still cloudy, cold and windy right now.

what they don't know won't hurt em LoL
I've already gone bug hunting for the trout, and he's eaten some small crickets already. I go frog hunting for the chickens LoL they love the little frogs around here.

Glad to see things are starting to come aroung down there. I'm still not sure about gators though. I guess it's like anything else, when you grow up with it, it's just a part of life.

Well I hope yall dry out too, we're getting there though the side of my house and under and behind are still flooded. I probably could have used a boat yesterday, would've kept hubby dryer through the bilge pump episode last night. They didn't have anymore hip waders at the store when he went so he got soaked...
