Does Di-Methox work for mycroplasmosis? I have some of that and I have tried to order Tylan but they don't sell that over the counter anymore. I need to treat asap as 2 chickens have died over night.

Thank you for your help!

Do you know for sure that you are dealing with a mycoplasma infection? It can be confirmed with a blood test. Tylosin (Tylan) is available as an injectable at Tractor Supply, and other feed stores. Most water soluble antibiotics are no longer available without prescription. I don't know if Di-methox would work as I believe it is a sulfa drug, most reading I have done says Tylosin or tetracycline should be used for MG. I've never had to deal with it, so only know from literature. And you understand that MG is not 'cureable', that birds that recover will be carriers for life? Yes, thank you. I have dealt with this disease before and it was cured very easily with Tylan powder. I can't get that online now. So I was hoping to find an alternative that could be purchased online. I have a little Tylan liquid, but I was wanting to treat my entire flock because I have had so many pass away so quickly. I wanted to catch any others before it got to far.

Doxcycyline powder is available on line. Here is one: http://www.fishmoxfishflex.com/index.php/bird-biotic-doxycycline.html
Also Jeffers Pets has it: https://www.jefferspet.com/products...term=bird biotic&utm_content=bird-doxycycline
I don't know correct dosing, you will have to look for that.
Found this article discussing using doxycyline: http://auspigeonco.com.au/Articles/gotabird.html
And this one, with a different med at the bottom from amazon: http://www.poultrydvm.com/condition/mycoplasma-gallisepticum
Best of luck, I can't offer more help as I've never had to deal with it personally.
