Hi Everyone! Sorry for dropping off the face of the forum this past week. I have just been super busy with predator proofing my layers' coops (more about that later hopefully), helping to remodel our house, and cleaning up our barn.
Great photos as usual @Chicken Girl1! Have you entered the worst molt contest yet? To answer your question, I actually don't have that many birds molting right now. 2/3 of my older hens molted back in aug/sept, and most of the remaining hens haven't molted yet. I'm not getting many eggs right now sadly, but my pullets are getting ready to start laying, so I'm hoping that will change soon. One of my Turkeys, Scones, is going through a pretty rough molt right now. She looks pitiful.

I just moved my bantams into the big hoop house and run for the winter, and they love it! Sadly though, I found my 4.5 year old d'Uccle Ruby dead, and partially eaten in one corner of the run the morning after I moved them. I suspect an owl or hawk. I have been keeping them locked up until the sun is up, and I haven't lost anymore. RIP sweet bird.

Nice view! I especially like the turkey picture. :). Sorry to hear about Ruby. :hit
