MyPetChicken "list"

No buff bantam cochins!!! I'm depressed

Meyer hatchery will sell as few as 3 day olds also and has a pretty extensive selection of breeds.

They don't include 'males for warmth' either like some of the other hatcheries.

I ordered 7 chicks from them last year and they all arrived healthy and happy. They threw in an extra, but it was one of the breeds and gender I'd already ordered.

I'd definately order from them again.

Unfortunately they are mixed and straight run! I cannot have roosters, my neighbors would kill me! The thought of getting rid of roosters is too depressing, though I could probably leave them at one of a few nearby farms!

I have been checking often for "THE LIST" at My Pet Chicken. I'm so glad it's finally out! I have had great results with them, although I did end up with a couple of roosters. It's not a 100% science sexing bantams, but they offered me money back or credit. I choose the credit. There was also a mix up once, some of my chicks weren't sent, and they sent them in a later shipment, with a promise of 5 free chicks in the future with free shipping.
Now I just have to try to control myself this spring when I order my replacements and free chicks. I have to remind myself that I live in town and don't have room for many more. I don't know if I have that much self-control!

MPC told me that they will not be carrying ANY bantam Cochins this year. BUMMER. I guess thier supplier is no longer raising them. I would order from them again in a heartbeat if they carried them! They need to find a "huge selection of bantam cochin colors supplier"

Well DH says I should order the birds I want and fill in any numbers with freezer birds!!! This from the man who thinks his wife has turned into the crazy chicken lady!!! I've never killed anything in my life, and he's ready to buy a feather plucker!!!
