I'm not jumping ship, my Muscovies are grandparented under the current law and they are raised for table meat, not pets. I do not sell them. They do not fly and I don't give any away and they are kept under lock and key in the evenings.
But it still remains to be seen what we will have to do to maintain our Muscovies as Domestic Livestock and stay within the law. Are they going to address the issue of having this Domestic Livestock for pets? We don't know yet.
I wish the new law would just go away, but we are dealing with Federal law and they don't normally back down, at least not all the way.
I like my Muscovies, just wish the drakes weren't so big.
