I named her after the woman in Edgar Allan Poe's poem, The Raven. Her legs are slate and she lays white eggs and as you can see, she has this little white earlobe. She's very sweet and pretty but I haven't a clue what kind of chicken she is. Anyone??

Thanks so much, everyone. I think from what you tell me and then going to some other sites with pictures, etc. she must be a black minorca. One site said the Andalusian lays creamy white eggs and the Minorca's are the whitest eggs ever...that's definitely hers. Whitest eggs I've ever seen. It also said the Andalusian eggs are large, but hers are on the small side, although she's only 6-7 months old, so maybe they'll get bigger. She also doesn't set on her eggs, but my Lakenvelders seem to be kind of broody, even at this young age. Wow, I've learned a whole new vocabulary on this site! This is fun!

Anyhow, guess I have a Spanish senorita in my hen house. I wonder if she'd carry a rose in her beak?

She looks just like my black andalusian girls.
My Andalusian hens lay a white as white can be egg, small to start off then get larger.

Okiehen,

I looked at your link. Your flock is beautiful. Those are really handsome roosters you have there too! I miss my roos, but the neighbors were complaining. sigh:(
