So Finger Lakes NY
I bought a 6 pack of day olds to put under my broody bantam cochin on hatch day 2..and then actually hatched 4 total over 4 days. Then bought 3 more a month later from someone else.

Which means I am at 10 weeks and looking at these 13 birds wondering how many of them are going to start crowing enough for my existing rooster to start attacking.

The only ones I am very sure on is a pair of bantam cochins because one has wattles and the other does not.
2 birds are mystery mixes. 1st up is Goliath, the only standard baby. Not sure if was climbing on mama because needed some reassuring snuggles or was overcome with ardor.
I believe it is a standard egger x lavender Orpington

And from the home hatch - bantam eggers. 3 that look more like their recently departed laying mom (but much less friendly) and one that looks more like the many many boys from the batch and is very shy. But not like keeper dad

(current ankle pecking jerk) who went through lots of color change so I am paranoid.

We had a lot of denial last year when miss Apple Brown Betty started crowing, but Buster Brown was a good rooster who didn't mind sharing his hens and totally gave up his life to get the fox to drop the carcass of a top hen.
So hoping another cochin boy does as well if the egger jerk remembers he used to share. (otherwise we are really tired of having our ankles pecked. )

Woo caught 2 today! Hen raised chicks are different.
Purchased silkie (2 of which had cross beak and went to a rescue)
