Mystery Brown Egg Layer Chick

New here to posting but want to Thank everyone for all the great information on BYC! I have 16 3 week old chicks from MPC. I ordered 8 Buckeyes and 8 Assorted Brown layers. Pretty sure I have a couple each BO, Red Sex Links, RIR and the Buckeyes but this little gal is so different than the rest I need help. First pic is with a couple of the Buckeyes that are all getting spotted feathers and tail feathers. Hard to tell but mystery chick on top of feeder is 1/2 the size and no tail feathers yet. Pretty sure is single comb but has red tip beak like the buckeyes. Ideas appreciated.

That's kind of tough. You might just have to wait and see! My Pet Chicken has a list of assorted brown egg layers (http://www.mypetchicken.com/catalog/Day-Old-Baby-Chicks/Assorted-Brown-Egg-Layers-Standard-p581.aspx), but it could include others. It maybe a mixed brown egg layer breed that they mistook for a Buckeye.

Wow, didn't realize hatcheries might have mixes. Guess I'll just have to be patient. hard to do

Looks a lot like a Rhode Island Red to me.

I'm thinking Rhode Island Red/Production Red, too.
