Mystery chickens

We got these ladies as chicks last spring and were told they were Ameracaunas. They’re clearly not, but I still haven’t been able to figure out their actual breed. It doesn’t really matter, but it would still be fun to know! Would love to hear everyone’s expert insight!
They lay medium sized, light brown eggs, if that helps!

Yes we got them from a feed store. I’ve had several people suggest that she’s a Sapphire Gem, and she does fit the bill. What about the darker one? Could she be one as well?

Interesting! When I google pics of them, some do have dark legs, but I’m guessing they’re not pure bred then?

The first one looks like a blue orpington with a few splash feathers or a splash blue orpington to me.

Sapphire Slashes, I think, are derived from the Sapphire Gems. Maybe the second is a gem, but the lighter colored neck is throwing me off.

To my knowledge, feed stores don’t order from places that have BBS Orpingtons?

Hmmm, pics show yellow(ish) legs, but I swear my splash had slate-ish colored legs. I gave her away, so can’t check, sorry. My Gem definitely has slate/grey/dark legs though, with yellowish pads.

Maybe ask the feed store where they get their stock? It might narrow down possibilities.
