Hi there, welcome to BYC! :frow

My guess is... somebody is hiding something.

Check out this basic calculator link. It doesn't account for leakage but can be a fun tool/toy...
color calculator

Chick mysteries are always fun. :pop
So if Dad was my red frizzle.... and mom was a white silkie...Most chicks have a partridge pattern everytime in the hatch. Just wondering how thats possible....

White is a dominant color and hides other things (genes) underneath it that are showing up in the offspring. It's just pattern though that looks *similar* to what you might see on partridge chicks.

The description given by nicalandia was likely most accurate as he seems to have a better grasp on genetics than I do.

But hey, now genetics has piqued your interest too.. and we're on a learning adventure together! :wee

It is so amazing seeing their unique colors, patterns and personalities... I just love learning new things about them... and now I see the hen i thought was least likly the mom I was wrong about... she was the mother to the majority of my last hatches.....

White in silkies is usually recessive. One copy doesn't show up at all, but two copies covers any other pattern. OP, your silkie is partridge under her white.

Please continue to update this thread with pictures of those chicks as they grow. They're a very interesting cross. :)
